Child Sensitive Social Protection (CSSP) Project

Since January, 201, CSSP is being carried out with the partnership of Save the Children. The goal of this program is to improve the poverty status of children. Moreover, the specific objectives of this program are to reduce child labor, encourage an increase in the number of children regularly attending school, and reduce the number of underweight children.

Currently, this program has covered 62 VDCs of Sindhupalchok district and is targeting single women, children, disabled people, Dalit, Janjati and others. The major activities of this program include mapping eligible people and vulnerable children for social protection in coordination with the Village Child Protection Committee (VCPC), Local Social Protection Coordination Committee and Village Development Committee, community sensitization on social protection child sensitivity in each household, support in formulating single women’s group, support VDC to conduct public hearing on social protection schemes, support maintaining vital event registration, support child club to conduct disaster risk reduction awareness raising program, and support health facilities and Out Reach Clinics for growth monitoring of children under five years of age.
